Long surf beach at the gateway to the Coromandel, about 50 minutes from Tauranga. The southern end towards Bowentown is used by locals for nude swimming, discreetly; the access most used is the second-last car park before Bowentown. The northern World Naked Bike Ride rides through the town. New Zealand has no official nude beaches: the law targets obscene exposure and offensive behaviour, and courts have held that simple nudity on a beach where it is known to occur is not offensive. Be discreet and considerate.
