Forty Foot, Sandycove
Nude Beach in Dalkey, County Dublin, Ireland
Famous sea-bathing place on the rocks at Sandycove, south of Dún Laoghaire, used all year round. For much of its history it was a men-only bathing place where men swam nude; women protested there in the 1970s and the bathers' association opened up to women in 2014. Today it is a busy mixed bathing spot where almost everyone wears swimwear, and the INA notes naturists no longer use it except very early in the morning. Mapped within about 400 m: parking, toilets and showers. Ireland has no officially designated naturist beaches: this is an informal spot where the Irish Naturist Association says nude bathing is tolerated, so pick a quiet stretch away from families and other visitors, and cover up if asked.
