Pōhutukawa Bay

Plage naturiste – Ōkura, Auckland, Nouvelle-Zélande

Secluded cove under pōhutukawa trees beyond the northern end of Long Bay Regional Park on Auckland's North Shore, long recognised as clothes-optional (a sign once said so). At low tide walk around the headland from Long Bay past Granny's Bay; at higher tides take the marked cliff track that starts inland of the Vaughan Homestead, about 30 minutes. Busy with retirees on weekdays and families at weekends in summer. New Zealand has no official nude beaches: the law targets obscene exposure and offensive behaviour, and courts have held that simple nudity on a beach where it is known to occur is not offensive. Be discreet and considerate.
