Little Palm Beach (Waiheke Island)

Small bay on the north coast of Waiheke Island, over a rocky saddle at the eastern end of Palm Beach, and probably the best-known nude beach in the Auckland region; used by locals all year and a favourite anchorage for boats. Ferry from downtown Auckland, then the bus to Palm Beach; the bay can also be reached from the signposted clifftop walkway. New Zealand has no official nude beaches: the law targets obscene exposure and offensive behaviour, and courts have held that simple nudity on a beach where it is known to occur is not offensive. Be discreet and considerate.
