Werrong Beach (Hell Hole)

Remote beach at the southern end of Royal National Park near Otford, below sandstone cliffs and coastal rainforest; the only designated nude beach in the park. Strong rips and currents make swimming unsafe, so it is a place for sunbathing and the view rather than the water. About 220 m long. No parking, food or toilets are mapped within about 400 m, so come prepared.
Getting there
Werrong Beach track from near Otford Lookout: about 4 km return, 1.5-2.5 hours, steep and rough with limited signage and a very steep, slippery final descent. Park entry fee per vehicle; toilets only at Bald Hill.
Local rules
Swimming is not recommended because of rips and rocks.
