Nude Beach in Northland, New Zealand
Sheltered, isolated bay on the Karikari Peninsula in the Far North, managed by the Department of Conservation. Listed by Free Beaches NZ among the Northland beaches used for clothes-optional swimming; nearby Whale Bay and the coves around the northern headland are quieter outside the holidays. New Zealand has no official nude beaches: the law targets obscene exposure and offensive behaviour, and courts have held that simple nudity on a beach where it is known to occur is not offensive. Be discreet and considerate.
