The only legally recognized clothing-optional public park in Texas: 109 acres on the rocky shore of Lake Travis north-west of Austin, run by Travis County Parks since 1985. Swimming and sunbathing from limestone ledges and steps rather than a sandy beach; depending on the lake level some scrambling may be needed. Signs at the entrance warn that nude swimming and sunbathing may be encountered.
Getting there
7000 Comanche Trail, Austin; park in the lot above the shore and walk down the rough limestone paths.
Local rules
Entry restricted to people aged 18 and over (county ordinance of 1995). Entrance fee; no glass.
