Strip of sand between the fishing village of 2 Mai and Vama Veche, near the Bulgarian border, where naturists have gathered for decades. It is the heart of the coast's oldest naturist tradition, with a relaxed crowd of long-time Romanian naturists, couples and campers around the Cherhana fishing area. Today it is more restricted than it once was and parts of the shore are mapped as under construction, so conditions may change. Food and drink are available in 2 Mai and Vama Veche. About 310 m long. Mapped within about 400 m: a bus stop, places to eat or drink and showers. Romania has no officially designated nude beaches: nudity here is tolerated by custom, not regulated, so keep to the established naturist stretch, stay discreet near clothed visitors and cover up if asked.
Getting there
Park in 2 Mai or Vama Veche (limited, informal street parking) and walk along the shore; seasonal buses run from Constanța and Mangalia.
