Whareakeake (Murdering Beach)
Plage naturiste – Pūrākaunui, Otago, Nouvelle-Zélande
Beach and valley about 12 km north-east of Port Chalmers near Aramoana, known to surfers for its right-hand point break and, after Smaills Beach, possibly the most popular Dunedin beach for nude bathing. A place of Māori settlement until 1817, when the clash that gave it its colonial name took place. New Zealand has no official nude beaches: the law targets obscene exposure and offensive behaviour, and courts have held that simple nudity on a beach where it is known to occur is not offensive. Be discreet and considerate.
