Member-owned naturist club on 8 ha on the shore of Lake Ōhakuri, across the water from Orakei Korako, in the middle of the North Island; the name joins Rotorua, Tokoroa and Taupō. Back-to-basics and off the grid, with solar lighting and gas cooking. Swim, kayak or fish in the lake, soak in natural hot-spring water and a hot stream, walk native bush tracks and look for glow worms. Caravans, a bach and cabins, camp sites and a large clubhouse. Book ahead: the gate is in a forestry area and is not at the street address, so use the coordinates on the club's website.
