Pihlajasaari Naturist Beach

Plage naturiste – Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finlande

Finland's only city-designated mixed naturist beach, on the southern shore of Eastern Pihlajasaari, a popular recreation island off Helsinki's southern shore. It is kept apart from the rest of the shoreline. The shore is mostly smooth granite rock, better for sunbathing than swimming. The island also has sandy family beaches, a café, a restaurant, cooking shelters and a campsite. In September 2026 the city proposed opening this stretch to general use, and the Culture and Leisure Committee is due to decide in 2026, so check its status before going. Mapped within about 400 m: toilets, showers and drinking water.

Accès

Summer water-bus (JT-Line) from Merisatama by Kaivopuisto or from Ruoholahti, about a 10-minute crossing; the naturist beach is on the eastern island.
